Structured Strongman Training Session Highlights: 22 Aug 2009 - Strongman Sled Pulls and Tug of War

Feel like trying out for the 4 tonne HomeTeamNS Rhino Vehicle Pull Challenge?
And wondering if you'll move it?
Our collective expeience here tells us if you manage to tug our sled successfully with about 240kg on, moving the Rhino will be like a walk in the park (pun intended)!
"Why?"
"Cos the Rhino's got wheels but the Sled doesn't!"
But after some sessions of serious Sled Pulling with us, you'll have a decent pair of wheels (read: legs) on yourself too, Brother!

Ryan, our speedster, straps up for warm up sprints with 80kg.

A new, more efficient starting technique is being put to the test.

The guys exhorting and cheering Kesavan to the finish line.
We have an enviroment that brings out your best!

Despite having only a few structured sessions under his belt, new guy Kesavan can add a 160kg Sled over 15m to his proud list of accomplishments here.

Tug Of War
Our preparation in building a team of members to compete in Tug Of War competitions takes another strong step forward with every session. This Strength Supplementary Drill definitely builds team spirit and cohesiveness like none other.

Our Anchorman, Sam! All 130kg of The Hulk shares some vital pointers with the new members.

And they're off! 1-2 Pull!!!

Strongman Spotlight

First timer, Raphael, 17, goes for a valiant attempt on the 240kg sled and gets a taste of how pulling the HomeTeamNS Rhino will feel like.
For his strong show of spirit, he has earned his spot in today's Strongman Spotlight.
Raphael wrote in to us after the session as well -
"Hi, I would like to write in on my experience at today's session.Personally, I enjoyed it very much! Strongman training was a whole new level compared to conventional gym lifts such as the "Big 3" or HIIT. It seemed to combine everything together, and got my heart pumping pretty hard (Which is a good thing). Throughout the session, I can feel the blood rushing through my veins, and the constant cheerings from everyone spurred me only to work harder. In a nutshell, I would like to commend on Team Iron Behemoths for being marvelous guides and training companions and I look forward to future sessions, getting stronger safely (AND WITHOUT JUICE OF COURSE), with everyone! Cheers!"

We are proud to have you in the team, Raphael! Let's get stronger together!
