Structured Strongman Training Session Highlights: 4 April 2009 - Strongman Tyre Flips and Powerlifting Club Bench Press

After two weekends of medley training, it was back to the basics for last Saturday’s session. And it was none other than the meat and potatoes of strongman training-the tyre flip. Due to the popularity of the event, the training was competitive and yet fun at the same time.

Today's Strongman Spotlight is stolen by Zhan Wei.

Our youngest member and one of the newest, has completed 10 tyre flips, unassisted, in less than a month he's been a Behemoth. And he's not even 17 years old yet!

Nicely done, Bro!

Makes you wanna come down and give the tyre a go, eh?

With the proper expertise and instruction( That's what we are here for!) and the crowd to get you going, we are confident you'll find out that you can do better than you think you can!

Next we have our Powerlifting Club - The Lift of The Day was the Bench Press.

Honourable mention has to be made of one of our lighter members, Wei Liang. He managed to get a personal best of 80kg. The way he grinded the bar in the midpoint attests to his intestinal fortitude. Again the usual suspects Bryan and Yoshida went head to head again in a race to hit 3 plates. Attempts were made with loads of 135kg and 140kg. Even though they could not get clean reps, we are sure that in time to come, these two Behemoths get there. Watch for it!

Today as per member request, we did an extra supplementary event. The Shot Put.

See you next week!
