Structured Strongman Training Session Highlights: 7 March 2009- Conan’s Wheel and Log Presses

Our young members Glen and Weiliang are in the Strongman Spotlight today for their commendable effort.

Conan’s Wheel

Our Super Yoke, is really a versatile piece of equipment. Besides being used for the traditional yoke walk, it can also be utilized as, among others, a makeshift Prowler and even a Conan’s Wheel implement.

And it was the latter event that our members had their hands on in today’s session.

Our young members Glenn and Wei Liang thoroughly immersed themselves in Conan’s Wheel training. Glenn especially found the event challenging yet enjoyable. He also manifested his grit by attempting 150kg and managed to walk a few metres with it.

On the other hand, Wei Liang managed to complete the pass with 150kg despite dropping the weight a few times.

Now, Glenn, your good friend has set a benchmark for you to meet, with more practice we are sure you will fly with that weight one day!

Log Presses

The supplementary lift for the day was log pressing by special request again.

As our members were already spent from the Conan’s Wheel, they did not do a maximal attempt this time, instead they tried the unloaded log for maximum reps. New member, Bryan, exceeded his personal best by one rep when he hit 36 reps. The record of the day again belonged to Yoshida who also improved by one rep to grind out 40 reps.

Great job, Yoshida-san!

You are an asset as well as an inspiration to the Team. We are grateful for your expertise and willingness to contribute to the betterment of other Behemoths!
