Making Singapore Stronger!

It seems we are continuing Making Singapore Stronger! One person at a time!

In this edition of the Strongman Spotlight, we have Lloyd. A local university student with a passion for fitness!

Llyod wrote in about his interest to join us for the Free First-Timer Trial Session and here's what he had to say about it:

"Hi team behemoths, First of all i would like to thank Sam for the complimentary session, as well as his invaluable knowledge and making my presense comfortable during training. People there are really friendly, prompting me to try new stuff, and also guided me alot should my posture be wrong and stuff. I did the tyre flip and the sled push for the first time, sled push was really taxing on the quads, tyre flip was pretty fun though. I foresee many more training with them as i hope to grow stronger and better with them. It was a good environment with people guiding and pushing you to slowly improve yourself. See you guys next sunday!"

Thanks for the feedback Lloyd!

The Team will always be behind you in your journey to be Stronger!

If you want to be like Lloyd and pursue your fitness and strength goals, simply write in to us like he did to book your Free First-Timer Trial Session.

Strongman Spotlight

In this edition of the Strongman Spotlight, we have Trenton McNee.

Trent got in touch with us online and came to visit. All the way from Scotland!

Looks like we are doing more than Making Singapore Stronger!

He was kind enough to write a mini-article about his experience with us in Singapore:

Hi Ben/Sam,

Thanks for letting me train at your gym this past week, I enjoyed my time there and hope training goes well for both of you this year. Good luck with Singapore's strongest man. Wrote this mini article when I was waiting for the plane, hope it's ok!

''Dear Iron Behemoths, I visit Singapore a few times per year for holidays and all the gyms I've trained at quite frankly just suck. Luckily this time, I got in contact with Ben via forums online and I went to the 'lair' on a Tuesday night unaware of what to expect. I left thoroughly pleased, Ben and Sam both gauged my level of strength well and pushed me to the intensity I crave in my training.

Furthermore, it was fun trying out a whole different environment of training with the strongman toys they have outdoors. Definitely will be training here when I come back next time (to Singapore), simply the only real place to train in Singapore.

Regards,Trent from Edinburgh''

Tent in action! Tango-ing with our 350kg Tyre: Abigail.

Looking forward to having you back Trent, the pleasure was all ours... and Abigail's!

Calling all friends the world over and Singapore, simply write in to us at teamironbehemoths@gmail.com or call/text 91011721 to join us for a session!

Making Singapore Stronger!

Making Singapore Stronger!

That's our new tagline for the Strongman Spotlight!

Here at Team Iron Behemoths, people get stronger! How can they not? With our greatest asset being our collective training knowledge and experience of all the members! We are proud to have created a fitness community that sees people of all ages and backgrounds and from all around the world! From students to schoolteachers, from soldiers to sales assistants, from personal tariners to private bankers! Some come to learn, some come to share- all get to lift and are stronger for it!

We are proud to be Making Singapore Stronger!

This week in the Strongman Spotlight we are featuring Andrew,26.

Here is Andrew performing the Strongman Farmers' Walk on grass with 100kg-a-side.

He wrote in about his Session with us-

"Samuel,

Training in the park with you guys was a fantastic experience. I loved how the more experienced members were ready to share much-needed advice on form. I must say, though, Strongman is so much more than just being 'strong'; i quickly realised how critical technique is in performing the tyre flip and yoke walk.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you for giving me much needed advice on form for my deadlift, resulting in not one, but TWO Personal Bests at 190kg and 195kg from my previous best of 180kg! I can't wait to see how much more i can get out of my other lifts!
I'm proud to say that i have trained with Team Iron Behemoths, and will certainly be back for more punishment!

Truly, Andrew"

Thanks Andrew. Happy to have you with us! Make no mistake, you're a strong dude already coming in but I guess that's what you get from training with us - STRONGER!

Structured Strongman Training Sessions Highlights - Strongman Log Press and Powerlifting Club Deadlifts

How does it feel to "Gorilla Press another member of the human race" over your head like we all remember the Ultimate Warrior doing to his opponents in the wrestling ring on our television screens back in the day?

Indeed many of us will never find out.

Manhandling someone overhead isn't the most viable of stress release channels in Singapore.

But the closest thing to it - would be to do that to our Log!

The only Strongman Log Press in Singapore, as we know it!

Here are the highlights of the week's session.

Mitch, a student, maybe thinking about his teacher.

Ryan, a teacher, probably thinking about his students.

Maybe his Head of Department too.

Kevin, an NSman, could be reacalling fond memories of his Sergeant.

Cyborg definitely thinking about Megatron!

What will you think of when you try your hand at Log Pressing?

Come on over and find out!

Powerlifting Club Deadlifts

We at Team Iron Behemoths are crazy for cookies!
Not the kind with sugar coated rainbow sprinkles though.

Our 100% pure sun baked metal cookies are coated with a thin layer of tasteless, inedible rubber and weigh 2okg a piece!

Still, we can't stop having more by the week at our Powerlifting Club!

The delectable term first came about in a Bench session between a former American UN Peacekeeper and The HULK back in the year 2000.
Oddly enough, the gunslinger was now a language lecturer and the HULK was still a student, still a Bruce Banner burying himself in books.
While piling on the plates for a final 160kg set, out of Stephen Ryan came the immortal words,
"Doesn't that 20kg plate look like a giant cookie to you?"
Samuel "The Student" Lim concured.
And the rest is local Powerlifting history!

Here are the proud inductees of the Cookie Club this week -

Strongman Spotlight

And a new member in the 4 Cookie Club?

Some coaching by the team for a strong and safe blastoff.
We build your PB over here.

Welcome to the party, Raphael!
A 180kg personal best sees you in the Spotlight this week!

This is what he jubilantly wrote in to say after -

"I do a lot of deadlifts over the year, but Team Iron Behemoths corrected me on my form as well as improve on my technique. I was steadily hitting 150kg to 160kg back in the past, but that was my plateau. Just recently, with the encouragement from everyone and the advice given to correct my form, I've successfully hit a deadlift PB of 180kg! I'm very satisfied with this result and I'm looking forward to hitting a 200kg in the future with the Behemoths! Thanks to everyone who was there to encourage! If you wanna get stronger the safe way, look no further, Team Iron Behemoths is always here! Cheers!" - Ralph, 17

We appreciate the pat on the back, Ralph. Keep it up!

We have a good feeling you'll be writing in about more Personal Bests to come, after all, you've only been here for less than a month!
Give yourself a shot at getting Stronger with us like Raphael!
